黄荣，教授、博士生导师，现为湖南省“芙蓉学者奖励计划”青年学者、湖南省***基金获得者、湖南省普通高校学科带头人、湖南省新世纪121人才工程人选、湖南省普通高校青年骨干教师、湖南省科协第十届全省委员会委员、湖南科技大学数学与计算科学学院院长等，主要从事数值计算方面的研究工作，目前在研主持国家自然科学基金面上项目、湖南省教育厅重点项目等各一项，已主持完成国家自然科学基金面上项目、国家自然科学基金青年项目、湖南省***基金项目、教育部博士点基金、中国博士后基金、湖南省科技计划项目、湖南省教育厅优秀青年项目、湖南省自然科学基金项目等，研究成果全部以第一作者或独著方式发表在Math. Comp.、SIAM. J. Matrix Anal. Appl.、J. Sci. Comput.、Adv. Comput. Math.、Appl. Numer. Math.、BIT、J. Comput. Appl. Math.、Numer. Linear Algebra Appl.、Numer. Algor.、Linear Algebra Appl.、Linear and Multilinear Algebra等计算数学重要期刊。
